ARE YOU READY FOR CHRIST'S RETURN?
The Seven Seals
The Seven Seals contains judgments that are released upon the opening of them.
1. The first seal: A White Horse (Revelation 6:1-2)
When the first seal is broken open, a white horse with a rider come out determined to conquer. This is the first of the "four horsemen of the Apocalypse". The rider is said to have a bow but no arrows and he wears a crown. It is understood that this rider is the Antichrist.
2. The second seal: A Red Horse (Revelation 6:3-4)
When the second seal is opened a red horse and rider come out. This second horseman is given power and a large sword to take peace from the Earth and to make men kill each other.
3. The third seal: A Black Horse (Revelation 6:5-6)
A black horse will come out when the third seal is opened. This third horseman holds a pair of scales, and three quarts of barley sold for a day's wages. The black horse is a symbol of famine and disease and the rider will take a heavy toll in deaths and sickness.
4. The fourth seal: A Pale Horse (Revelation 6:7-8)
The fourth horse will be pale and symbolizes death. Power was given to them over a fourth of the Earth to kill by sword, famine, plague, with death and by wild beasts.
5. The fifth seal: The Martyrs (Revelation 6:9-11)
During the opening of the fifth seal, the disciple John (the author of the Book of Revelation) saw a vision in Heaven of people who had been killed because of their faith in God. These martyrs were asking God how much longer they would have to wait until He would judge the world. Many of God's people will be martyred during the Great Tribulation.
6. The sixth seal: The Great Earthquake (Revelation 6:12-17)
When the sixth seal is opened, there would be an earthquake so massive that every mountain and island will be moved out of its place. The people of the Earth will understand that this event is from God and they will hide in caves and in the rocks of the mountains in an attempt to hide from God and His wrath.
7. The seventh seal: The Trumpet Judgments (Revelation 8:1-2)
What is different about the seventh seal is that it introduces the next series of divine judgments, the seven trumpet judgments. An interesting detail is that all of the trumpet judgments will come directly from Heaven. Even though the seal judgments were bad, the trumpet judgments will be worse. It is believed that the first trumpet begin to sound their warnings at the beginning of the Great Tribulation which will be the final 3 and a half years. At this time Satan is thrown out of Heaven to Earth. The seals are the early warning signs of the end but Th trumpets are the final warnings. When the seventh seal is opened there will be silence in Heaven for a half hour.
